The May Fair Hotel is just moments away from the bustling streets of London, but offers spa-goers a quick dose of relaxation.[The May Fair Hotel]
For the ultimate relaxation, of course we’d all like a spa retreat in a sunny location nearby a sandy beach.
But for time-poor Londeners, that’s rarely the reality. But luckily for us city folk, there are serene spots hidden between the capital’s bustling buildings.
Take The May Fair Spa (located within the same-titled hotel), for example.
If you’re after an express dose of luxury — just two minutes hop from Green Park tube station — here’s why you should book in for a spa treatment at the luxurious London spot.
EXPRESS SPA EXPERIENCE

First things first about The May Fair Spa; when filling out all the repetitive forms before your treatment begins, you are presented with a very important question…
Loosely translated, the form asks zen-seekers if they’d like to opt out of chit-chat with their beauty therapist. Meaning stress-high and patience-low spa-goers can truly focus on a dose of ‘me time’ rather than exchanging summer holiday plans.
For town-folk who rarely spend five minutes in silence a day, this is a very welcome tick box.
As for the spa itself, The May Fair Hotel boasts a small but savvy spa experience. A sauna and steam room teamed with a cosy relaxation area surrounded by treatment rooms is the perfect fast track to ‘ahh.’

To keep in line with the on-the-go visit, we tried the ESPA Express Facial — from £65 for 30 minutes.
Letting spa-goers pick the mix of essential oils that are applied to their skin throughout the session (we closed our eyes and noted which scents we were most drawn to) only makes the experience more special as the calming therapist works ESPA’s elixirs into thirsty complexions.

In less time than it takes to grab a coffee, our skin was completely transformed — we looked noticeably brighter, clearer and full-of-life.
A scalp massage finished with a leave-on hair mask that got to work as we headed back to the steam and sauna was an added treat, too.

But why stop there? If you’ve got a few hours of your busy week to give up (we know it’s hard!) go for a head-to-toe detoxify in this secret city spa by booking in for the Moroccan Steam Cleansing Ritual (from £79).
Again, we loved the DIY approach to this full body treatment that meant you can truly put the rest of the world on hold. In a private steam room, customers work through the steps of lathering themselves in exotic mineral muds and natural salts to exfoliate and draw out toxins in the heat.
In between sauna and steam, you can kick back in the cosy, cut off relaxation and sip on some herbal tea for some internal cleansing, too.
For day spas, guests can relax with the Leisure Pass starting at £60 – this offers two hours excess to the spa facilities, including access to the Stone Oven Sauna.
