The video for his new single features a turtleneck we couldn’t help but recognize.
Justin Timberlake just dropped the video for his new single “Filthy,” and it features Timberlake in a Steve Jobs-like role unveiling a new dancing robot to a room of investors. In short, it’s nothing like what many expected when we heard the album title was “Man of the Woods,” and Timberlake’s wife Jessica Biel said the album sounds like “trees” in the promo trailer. (A trailer that also doubled as one big jacket plug.) Maybe this is a Taylor Swift-style fake-out, and the rest of the album will be poppy campfire vibes. But for now, a glasses-rocking, late-Timbaland-sounding, turtleneck-wearing Timberlake is what we’ve got—and it’s a mighty nice turtleneck if we say so ourselves.
The white trimmed knit is made by none other than Todd Snyder, the man who’s constantly nailing the kinds of preppy, Americana-leaning pieces that every guy can wear and love. In the context of Justin Timberlake’s outfit and video the sweater has a vaguely Jobs-ian feel, but that doesn’t mean you have to if you pick one up for yourself. With a pair of flannel suit trousers and lace-up boots this turtleneck might just be your new go-to during the colder months—no techno-prophet vibes necessary. And thanks to its white trim on the collar, it’s the perfect entry-level turtleneck for guys who are worried about looking too much like 1970s Sean Connery. (Not that that’s a bad thing—it just might not be your cup of tea.)
Even better, the turtleneck is currently on sale, so you’ll still have money left over to buy Timberlake’s album when it drops on February 2.
